How we can help
Windows upgrade help checks compatibility, protects important files and makes a sensible plan before a change. We can investigate failed updates and driver problems or help move to a replacement computer, with software licences and hardware treated separately.
Common problems we can help with
- Upgrade compatibility
- Failed updates
- Driver problems
- Moving to a replacement computer

Windows upgradesCompatibility checks, supported versions and careful computer migration.↗Remote help or a visit?
We review the computer hardware, current Windows state, drivers, applications and important files before recommending an upgrade. Compatibility is checked before an upgrade is recommended, and a physical visit can be arranged when the device cannot be assessed remotely.
Attended remote help is available wherever you are for problems that can be handled on screen. You remain in control throughout. If hands-on attention is needed, we can arrange a Bristol or nearby visit; longer journeys can be discussed where practical.
Before work starts
- Software licences and hardware are separate
- Compatibility is checked before an upgrade is recommended
What to have ready
- Back up important files before any upgrade work.
- Record essential applications, devices and licence details.
- Keep the computer plugged in and available for assessment.
Keep passwords and private documents out of your enquiry. We’ll discuss any access needed during the session.
What happens next
- Describe the symptoms through the contact form, or call us.
- We suggest the most practical route: remote help, a Bristol-area visit or a wider visit by arrangement.
- You approve the likely charge before repair work begins.
Your questions answered
Can you tell me whether my computer is compatible?
We check the machine and current software before recommending a Windows upgrade; compatibility is not assumed.
Will my files and applications stay in place?
We plan around your files and applications and explain the risks and steps first, but no upgrade is risk-free, so keep a backup.
What does Windows help cost?
Remote help is £25 per 30 minutes. A Bristol visit is £65 including the first hour; software licences, hardware and agreed travel are separate.
