How we can help
Slow computer and upgrade help finds the bottleneck before money is spent. We can investigate slow startup, low storage, insufficient memory or an old hard drive, then suggest tuning, cleaning or an SSD or RAM upgrade only where it makes sense.
Common problems we can help with
- Slow startup
- Low storage
- Insufficient memory
- Old hard drives
Repairs and improvements available
SSD speed boostReplace a slow hard drive and move Windows and your files safely.↗
Memory upgradesMore RAM where it will make multitasking genuinely quicker.↗
Storage expansionAdd sensible space for photos, work, games and backups.↗
Parts sourcingCompatible parts found and quoted before anything is ordered.↗Remote help or a visit?
We check startup behaviour, storage, memory and hardware health, using remote checks where possible and physical assessment when parts or hardware are involved. Very old or unsupported devices may be better replaced, and upgrade parts are quoted separately.
Attended remote help is available wherever you are for problems that can be handled on screen. You remain in control throughout. If hands-on attention is needed, we can arrange a Bristol or nearby visit; longer journeys can be discussed where practical.
Before work starts
- Upgrade parts are quoted separately
- Very old or unsupported devices may be better replaced
What to have ready
- Note when the slowdown happens and which tasks are affected.
- Keep at least one current backup of important files.
- Have the computer model and any upgrade parts or storage drives available.
Keep passwords and private documents out of your enquiry. We’ll discuss any access needed during the session.
What happens next
- Describe the symptoms through the contact form, or call us.
- We suggest the most practical route: remote help, a Bristol-area visit or a wider visit by arrangement.
- You approve the likely charge before repair work begins.
Your questions answered
Will an SSD or RAM upgrade fix my computer?
It depends on the bottleneck. We check storage, memory and other hardware first, then explain whether an upgrade is worthwhile.
Can you check a slow computer remotely?
Many software and startup checks can be attended remotely; hardware and part installation may need physical assessment.
What is the price?
Remote help is £25 per 30 minutes. A Bristol visit is £65 including the first hour; upgrade parts and agreed travel are separate.
